What an amazing experience in this hostel with this beautiful view of the nature and welcomed by a very friendly and helpful couple staff ! Great breakfast and food with good selection ! We also had the opportunity to cook local and it was a nice opportunity to share a good moment together!
This was the most beautiful and exciting place I stayed in Bali! The married couple that runs this place is so kind, caring and open-hearted. I felt very welcome. They served tea/coffee and selfmade fried bananas when I arrived. The food in general (self baked indonesian food) was very delicious and everything fresh. The place is surrounded from nature. If you want to do a morning walk you can walk to the (really beautiful!) rice paddies close from there. The place is very quiet and you can have a very beautiful and peaceful time there with yourself and the nature. The room was comfortable. I also liked the outdoor bathroom and the balcony in front of the nature. I really loved it and would have liked to have stayed longer. Would love to come back and would recommend this real authentic and lovely place! Thank you Dewi & Adi! Hope to see you again some day!
Tepi Sawah Lodge is in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by rice fields, and it was so green and so calming! Dewi and her husband Adi are the nicest people and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Even though we stayed only one night, when we told them it was our honeymoon, we came back to a very cute table setting. The food was prepared by Dewi and was delicious! When my husband said that he liked the welcome tea that was offered, Dewi gave us a complete pack and later texted me to inform us where we can buy more. Little pups Louie and Pico were just adorable and they made the place even better. You can also organize hiking trips or take cooking classes at the premises, which we didnt have time for. Next time! :)
Please don't look for another place to stay! The lodges are in a beautiful natural place, near the scenic but not crowded Subak Piak Ricefields, and also near Batukaru temple (you can go to both by foot). The breakfast and dinner were delicious (thanks for the lak lak and dadar!). Dewi and her husband are adorable, they will take care of you (but without being intrusive), and they can organise activities like Trek, cooking class... Thank you so much!
Great views, exceptional service, fireflies in the night
We stayed at Tepi Sawah for a couple of days and we LOVED it. The views in the middle of the jungle are amazing, the staff are the best. An amazing experience.
We arrived in the late evening on our scooter, Mr. Adi warmly welcomed us at the parking lot and making sure if we're fine, and he genuinely helped us to bring our stuff. once we stepped on the common space, we were warmly greeted (again) by Mrs. Dewi and offered us something to drink and to eat. It really felt like home, moreover Mrs. Dewi cooked some fried bananas for us, it was a very lovely welcome. the room itself is so unique with green views, very affordable yet clean. and the homemade local breakfast was sooo good! the next afternoon was heavily raining, my friend and I were in the room, starving and we were not able to get something to eat. I messeged Mrs. Dewi if we can order something from the kitchen, and couple minutes later, Mr. Adi delivered the food to our room while it's raining. The food was safely kept on a box container so it wont get wet and plus he gave us a big bottle of water too! they are amazing. they also offered us to cook with them together, but sadly we had to leave soon back then. I hope we can visit them again next time. Thank you so much for the hospitality! :)
We had a great stay at Tepi Sawah. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the lodge was comfortable. Adi organised a trek for us with a local guide which was great and the food served at Tepi Sawah was delicious (we even got to help out). I would definitely recommend !
We had a wonderful night! only wish we could have stayed longer! love the rustic feel of the place, and how in tune with nature and the surrounds our hosts were .
Tepi Sawah lodge is such a unique and special place that will be in my memories forever. I extended my stay for two extra nights, this place felt like home. The accommodation is unique and you feel close to nature. At night you can hear a symphony of cicadas, crickets and geckos and see fireflies in the rice fields. Dewi and Adi are fantastic hosts and Gede, Kadek and the many other I met during my time there were so genuine, generous and kind. As a female solo traveller I felt very safe and well cared for. Breakfast is delicious and nightly nasi campur (served with home grown veggies and rice) is fantastic. The fresh home-grown durian was also a treat! The local area is beautiful and if you want a challenging hike you can visit Gunung Butakaru, you can see rice fields, visit local temples, do a cooking class or just sit and enjoy the nature of Tepi Sawah Lodge. I hope to come back soon to share this experience with others. The accommodation is but very easy to find and access with no problems and absolutely worth travelling to.
This is the most beautiful and peaceful place weve ever been too. The owner Adi is very kind and helpful with everything you might need. He took the time to answer all our questions about a rice farmers life, the processes of growing rice and more. The rooms were comfortable and cozy and the food was delicious, the fruits were fresh from their own garden. The environment is very calming, perfect to read a book and relax or wander through the rice fields. We wish we could have stayed longer and we definitely recommend everyone whos looking for a time out to come here.
We absolutely loved our stay here. It is a quiet, clean and cosy bungalow surrounded by green jungle. Our host was super welcoming and went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. He also cooked us an amazing local meal for dinner:). This place is a must for anyone visiting or living in Bali, who want's to get away from the crazy noise and traffic of the south.
I had a wonderful 2 night stay here at Tepi Sawah Lodge and Retreat. The owner Adi, along with Kadek and the others are so friendly and helpful, they really make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is situated off the beaten track, surrounded by rice paddies and nature. If you're looking to escape the crowds of Ubud and experience a more local and laid-back side of Bali, this is the place for you. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and ensuite bathrooms are outside which is a really nice touch. A local Balinese breakfast is included and dinner can be arranged on request. The food was delicious! With many rice paddies and temples in walking distance, it is fun to get out and about to explore, however a motorbike is needed to explore further. I would 100% recommened staying here and I'm sure I'll be back. A perfect stay.
Everything was perfect, didn't expect this. Beautiful and huge area, beautiful view, delicious food, own garden and so on. Totally recommendable for people who want to do yoga or just escape busy places. Brilliant.
- Great location, ambience, host - My 4 days was spent meaningfully - 5 mins to 2km Padi Field walk - 8km to Jatiluwih, Hillside Tea House - 2 km to Batu Karoh Trekking and Temple - Host can prepare local dishes to experience - Quiet time for reflections
The host was very nice and welcoming. The property is beautiful, surrounded by rice fields and fruit trees. The room is big and very unique as it is a traditional style bungalow. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruits and coffee. if you want to fully relax and enjoy nature, this is the place.
I dont normally write only reviews, but this is a really special place run by some wonderful people. The food cooked by Kadek and Komang was the best I ate in Bali, the location is peaceful, and the room was beautiful. The outdoor bathroom was lovely, and I spent several hours on the veranda drinking tea and watching the light change and the little dramas of Nature unfold, from lizards and (harmless) rice snakes going about their day to gorgeous butterflies flitting through the sun, birds battling for territory, fire flies flashing through the night ... all to the incredible sound of cicadas and frogs in the rice fields. I particularly appreciated that Adi, the owner, provides reusable water bottles you can borrow and fill up from a big carafe of mineral water - this is the only place in Bali where I left behind no plastic waste. Fantastic! Top tips: Get up at dawn and walk through the local village and rice terraces as the sun comes up, the air is lovely and cool, and within an easy walk of 20 minutes or so you can get views of the 5 main peaks of Bali if the air is clear. Another top tip: Go for a jungle and temple walk with Kadek, hes a kind, fun and knowledgeable guide.
